The Scoville Limonite Mine is near Salisbury, Connecticut. Historically the site has been associated with the Connecticut Salisbury Iron Mining District which is now part of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. The Scoville Limonite Mine was closed at the time of data entry with no known plans to re-open. Past operations took place from 1734-early 1900s. The ore mined is composed of limonite. The Taconic Section of the Appalachian Highlands characterize the geomorphology of the surrounding area.
