This unnamed copper mine is near Canton Valley, Connecticut. Historically the site has been part of the Canton Mining District. The Unnamed Copper Mine was closed at the time of data entry with no known plans to re-open. Production size when active was considered to be small. The ore mined is composed of chalcopyrite with waste material consisting primarily of plagioclase, biotite and muscovite. Associated rock in this area is granite from the Lower Devonian epoch 419.20 to 393.30 million years ago. The New England Upland Section of the Appalachian Highlands characterize the geomorphology of the surrounding area.
