The Kent Limonite Mine is near Kent, Connecticut. Historically the site has been associated with the Kent Area which is now part of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. The Kent Limonite Mine was closed at the time of data entry with no known plans to re-open. The ore mined is composed of limonite, siderite and sphalerite with waste material consisting primarily of graphite, staurolite and tourmaline. The New England Upland Section of the Appalachian Highlands characterize the geomorphology of the surrounding area.
